  • Is Self Care a registered pharmacy?

Yes. Self Care is a trading name of McMinn's Pharmacy Group, a fully registered and regulated pharmacy. All prescriptions are reviewed and dispensed by qualified healthcare professionals.
  • How do I contact Self Care?

You can reach us by phone at (028) 2565 2348, by email at hello@selfcare.co.uk, or through the contact form on our website. Our team typically responds within 24 hours.
  • Do you have a physical pharmacy I can visit?

Yes, we have physical pharmacy locations across Northern Ireland. Our main branch is at 17 Main Street, Ballymena. Check our website for all locations and opening hours.
  • What areas do you cover?

We deliver across the UK. Online consultations and prescription services are available to anyone with a UK address, while in-store services are available at our Northern Ireland locations.

Treatments

  • What treatments do you offer?

We offer treatments across a range of health areas including weight loss, erectile dysfunction, hair loss, acne, contraception, menopause, and general skin care. Each treatment begins with a clinician-led consultation.
  • How does the weight loss programme work?

Our weight loss programme starts with a free online consultation where a clinician reviews your health, goals, and medical history. If appropriate, they'll recommend a treatment plan which may include prescription medication, ongoing support, and regular check-ins.
  • Are the medications you prescribe safe?

All medications we prescribe are licensed in the UK and sourced from regulated suppliers. Every prescription is reviewed by a qualified prescriber who ensures it is clinically appropriate for you based on your health profile.
  • Can I switch treatments if something isn't working?

Absolutely. If you feel your current treatment isn't right for you, get in touch with our clinical team. They'll review your situation and can recommend an alternative approach or medication if appropriate.
  • Do I need a prescription from my GP?

No. Our in-house prescribers can issue prescriptions following a consultation. You don't need to visit your GP first, though we may recommend you inform them about any new treatments for your medical records.

Orders & Delivery

  • How long does delivery take?

Most orders are dispatched within 24 hours of your prescription being approved. Standard delivery takes 2–3 working days, and you'll receive tracking information by email once your order has been shipped.
  • Is the packaging discreet?

Yes. All orders are sent in plain, unmarked packaging with no indication of the contents or the nature of the service. Your privacy is our priority.
  • Can I track my order?

Yes. Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive an email with a tracking number and a link to follow your delivery in real time.
  • What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

Contact our support team as soon as possible and we'll arrange a replacement. Please don't use any damaged products — we'll make sure the issue is resolved quickly.
  • Can I cancel or change my order?

If your order hasn't been dispatched yet, we can usually make changes or cancel it. Contact us as soon as possible by phone or email and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

Consultations

  • How does the online consultation work?

You'll complete a short health questionnaire about your symptoms, medical history, and goals. A qualified prescriber then reviews your answers and, if appropriate, recommends a treatment plan. The whole process can be completed online in just a few minutes.
  • Is the consultation free?

Yes, our initial consultations are completely free. You'll only pay if a treatment is prescribed and you choose to proceed with it.
  • Who reviews my consultation?

Every consultation is reviewed by a qualified healthcare professional — either a pharmacist prescriber or a doctor. We never use automated systems to make clinical decisions about your care.
  • How long does it take to hear back?

Most consultations are reviewed within a few hours during business hours. You'll receive an email notification as soon as your clinician has reviewed your case and made a recommendation.
  • What happens if I'm not suitable for treatment?

If our clinician determines that a particular treatment isn't suitable for you, they'll explain why and may suggest alternatives or recommend you speak to your GP. You won't be charged for the consultation.

Account & Privacy

  • How is my personal information protected?

We take data protection seriously. All personal and health data is encrypted, stored securely, and handled in accordance with UK GDPR regulations. We never share your information with third parties without your explicit consent.
  • Will my GP be informed about my treatment?

We may recommend informing your GP for your safety, but we won't contact them without your permission. You can choose whether you'd like us to share information with your GP during the consultation process.
  • How do I create an account?

You can create an account when you start your first consultation. You'll just need your name, email address, date of birth, and delivery address. Your account lets you track orders, view past consultations, and manage your treatments.
  • Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. You can request account deletion at any time by contacting our support team. Please note that we are legally required to retain certain medical records for a minimum period as per pharmacy regulations.
  • Is my consultation confidential?

Completely. All consultations are private and confidential. Only the healthcare professional reviewing your case will have access to your health information. We never publish or share patient stories without explicit written consent.
